Just the knowledge that you may be saddled with excruciating pain or even simple discomfort can be enough to drive some people to drink. Well consider the poor souls who must live with that kind of pain day and day out.
Living with chronic or long term illness and its treatment presents special problems for the sufferer. They need to learn how to:

- Deal with the treatments
- Make sure there is clear communication with doctors
- Maintain emotional balance to cope with negative feelings
- Maintain confidence and a positive self image.
- Manage the level of pain experienced in each day.

So what can a person do in terms of management to alleviate some of the pain and get through each day a little more successfully than the day before? Here are some suggestions.

Sources of these nutrients include citrus fruits, oily fish and sunshine, legumes and nuts to name but a few.
Creatine is of great benefit in assisting with the prevention of muscle wasting. Those who suffer from these illnesses often have great difficulty in moving around let alone getting out to participate in any form of exercise. Note: I’m not in favour of suggesting that my clients eat meat, there are too many facts that indicate this can be a problem if over-done. But I am in favour of the edict “all things in moderation” and if including some meat in the diet can help with muscle wasting then probably should be tried.
Fish is another natural source of dietary creatine. Herring, salmon and tuna all provide you with substantial amounts of creatine. Cooking can reduce the creatine content in foods, so eating safe, raw sources, like sushi and sashimi, is a way to get a given amount of creatine. Also, since fish is a rich source of methionine, eating fish provides both a direct source of creatine and an adequate supply of one of its building block
If you’ve ever been a student of science then you’ll know that the word “glyco” means sweet. And that is an apt description of these nutrients.
